Penn Museum exterior Theater

Incantation

Vocal artist Victoria Hanna performs a mash-up of art, artifacts, and learning, with a set of rare objects on public display. Simcha Gross of the Jewish Studies Program will introduce the culture of demons and spells in the ancient Near East. This performance and talk is presented in partnership with the Herbert D. Katz Center for Advanced Judaic Studies.

African Narratives Film

The Lauder Institute and the Center for Africana Studies present “Pray the Devil Back to Hell,” the story of the Liberian women who came together to end a bloody civil war and bring peace to their shattered country. This new film series presents global African cinema.

Present Futures

The Annenberg School for Communication presents a contemporary art exhibition about envisioning feminist solidarities across space and time. The exhibit is in conjunction with the Transnational Feminist Networks Symposium, being held Sept. 12-13.
